Kate Hickey

Kate Hickey joined the IrishCentral team in 2010 while living in New York. She is now IrishCentral’s Managing Editor based out of Dublin. IrishCentral is the largest Irish website in North America, with teams based in New York and Dublin.

She moved to New York having worked in various online and print publications following on from her MA in Journalism. Throughout her career in Ireland and in New York, Kate worked on publications such as The Irish Independent, The Irish Times, and New York Arts among others.

Her immersion in the Irish community in the United States began in 2006 when she became involved with the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform and eventually became the group’s spokesperson.

Kate now lives in her hometown, Dublin City, where she is responsible for sourcing, commissioning and managing the content of the site.
